Caregiving for an 86-year-old man living in a family house in Neumarkt i.d.OPF. The senior suffers from moderately advanced dementia, which worsens during the day, causing confusion and disorientation. He is mobile within the house using a wheelchair but can stand and take a few steps with assistance, so support is needed for walking practice with a rollator. He has a catheter in place.

The caregiver will assist with dressing, hygiene, transfers, and daily activities. Assistance with basic hygiene (including showering on a chair), supervision, and guidance in the daily routine, as well as mobility support, are very important. Within the household, the caregiver will be responsible for cooking, laundry, and light cleaning. Larger shopping is handled by another person, while smaller shops are accessible on foot.

Night work is generally not required, only exceptionally in the absence of the partner, with a baby monitor available. The senior requires an afternoon nap. Lifting may be necessary, so it is important that the caregiver is physically fit.

The senior lives in a family house with his partner, who is fully independent, and a domestic helper regularly visits. The caregiver has access to a large private room with its own bathroom and internet. There is a cat (free-roaming) in the household that needs feeding. Free time is possible by arrangement with the senior's partner.

In the town of Winterlingen (Postal Code 72474), we are looking for a caregiver with a good command of German, who is calm, empathetic, and an active driver. Smoking is allowed only outside the apartment.

Profile of the Senior:
Care is intended for a 90-year-old lady (150 cm, 40 kg), who is mobile and physically independent but suffers from dementia/Alzheimer's and has had a stroke (09/2024). She has been assigned care level 3, and an application for an increase has been submitted.

The senior is well-oriented in her home environment, only partially outside. She recognizes people and names, speaks clearly, and conversation is possible. She suffers from poor vision (macular degeneration, vision about 15%) and impaired hearing – uses a hearing aid.

She is independent in hygiene, dressing, eating, and toilet use, but needs supervision, gentle guidance, and maintenance of daily structure. She likes her order, garden, and contact with friends, but does not readily accept help, so a patient and sensitive person is sought.

Description of the Situation and Caregiver's Duties:
The main task is companionship and support in everyday life – overseeing medication intake, accompanying to the doctor, physiotherapist, or hairdresser (1× weekly), assisting with shopping, minor household chores, and the garden. Meal preparation, spending time together, walks, visits with acquaintances, and maintaining a daily routine are also expected.

There are no other residents in the house, only occasional visits from family and friends. A dog is occasionally present (visits).

The caregiver is provided with a fully furnished room in a family house with internet access.
