Care for a 98-year-old gentleman and an 86-year-old lady, who live together in a family house in Königsfelde. The gentleman weighs 60 kg, is 172 cm tall, and has Pflegegrad 4. He has recovered from gallbladder inflammation and is mostly independently mobile, occasionally using a cane depending on his current condition. He is oriented, communicates well, and primarily requires partial assistance with dressing, hygiene, and toileting. He has weaker short-term memory and sometimes repeats the same questions. Night care is not necessary for him. The lady is 86 years old, weighs 45 kg, has dementia and incontinence, and also has Pflegegrad 4. She is mostly mobile without aids, but sometimes needs help when getting up. She has weaker hearing, only hearing on the right side, does not use a hearing aid, and has cataracts. She primarily needs guidance, safety, and a stable daily routine, as uncertainty can cause her fear and anxiety. She is calm, friendly, and cooperative once trust is established. She requires assistance with dressing, hygiene, and toileting. At night, assistance may be needed approximately 1–2 times for toileting. The job duties include assisting both seniors with personal care, cooking, light household tasks, laundry, companionship, maintaining the daily routine, and accompanying them to the doctor as agreed. Assistance and supervision are needed during showering and bathing. Both individuals need support in ensuring adequate fluid intake. Medications are prepared for the lady, and supervision of their intake is necessary. The caregiver has access to a private furnished room with a bed, wardrobe, and work desk, with internet available. Free time is arranged by agreement.

Most job positions in Germany are based on Slovak/Czech trade licenses, though employment contracts are possible with some families. In Switzerland, work is conducted under Swiss employment contracts.
A caregiving course is not required for families in Germany, but you need at least some experience of caring at home. In Switzerland, most families require a caregiving course.
Finding a family is an individual matter for every candidate, so there is no exact time frame for when we will find you a family that suits you both. In some cases we can arrange a job within a few hours, at other times the wait is a few days. For families in Switzerland, the wait can stretch to a month because of high demand. We place candidates fastest in the summer months, June – August, and more slowly from the end of January to the end of March.
If you wish, we will organise your transport. We have worked for many years with transport companies that our caregivers are happy to use again and again. You can of course choose another way of travelling that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey herself and the family contributes to it – €180 – 300 in Germany, CHF 380 – 400 in Switzerland, depending on the offer. If you do not have the cash to travel to Germany, we can pay the fare for you and deduct it from your pay afterwards.
In Germany a standard assignment lasts 4 – 6 weeks, in Switzerland 2 – 3 months. Replacement assignments are shorter.
In Germany the pay is up to €3 500 a month as a self-employed caregiver – the exact amount is stated in each offer. It depends on your German, the client’s state of health and whether you care for one person or a married couple. In Switzerland the pay is up to CHF 3 500 net a month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, families most often require intermediate to good German; some are happy with basic German and/or want another language, such as Czech, Russian or Bulgarian. Families in Switzerland require good German, although a solid intermediate level is sometimes enough.
