Neuenstadt am Kocher, 74196 Germany
Client
a woman 68 years 158 cm 80 kg
Diagnoses
Caregiving for a 68-year-old lady. This position is based in a family house (120 m²) where the client lives with her husband and son. Both are busy with work and do not require any care. There is also a cat in the household. The lady in care is 68 years old, measures 158 cm, and weighs 80 kg. She has been diagnosed with schizoaffective psychosis, but is stabilized with medication. She is not demented, is fully oriented in terms of place, time, and person, and communicates clearly and without issues. Importantly, the client cannot be left alone, so she requires the presence and companionship of another person. She moves independently around the house without aids, gets out of bed and chairs without assistance. However, she is unsteady on stairs, so supervision is needed. She is not incontinent but uses incontinence briefs as a precaution. She eats independently. Job responsibilities include partial assistance with personal hygiene, support with showering and hair washing, help with dressing as needed, and supervision of medication intake (medications are pre-prepared). The role also involves meal preparation, dining together, and monitoring fluid intake. The caregiver handles regular household chores—cleaning, laundry, shopping (shops are within walking distance), and caring for the household for one additional person. An important part of the job is providing companionship, engaging in conversations, taking walks, playing board games, and maintaining a regular daily routine. Night work is not required, except in emergency situations. The caregiver has access to a private living area (bedroom with living space), furnished with a bed, wardrobe, table, chair, and TV. A shared shower and toilet with the client are available on the floor, as well as internet (WLAN). Time off is possible upon agreement.

No, completing a caregiving course is not necessary for most job positions; however, it is important to have at least some experience from a home environment.
Finding a family is a highly individual matter for each applicant, and therefore there is no exact timeframe for when we will find you a family with whom you will be mutually compatible. In some cases, we are able to arrange work within a few days; in other instances, the waiting period can be up to a month. For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.
If you are interested, we can arrange transportation for you. We have long-term partnerships with transport companies that our caregivers happily use repeatedly. Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
