We are looking for a caregiver for a 67-year-old senior (189 cm, 90 kg), who is predominantly bedridden, or mobile only with a wheelchair. He is mentally healthy. He is incontinent, uses diapers, and has a permanent urinary catheter. Nighttime waking is irregular; there are days when it is not needed at all. The senior lives with his wife in a family house, and she takes care of the household. The caregiver's primary responsibility is to care for the gentleman and maintain cleanliness only in the bathroom and areas used by her and the senior. The job includes walks, hygiene (including intimate hygiene), emptying the catheter bag, feeding the senior, administering medication, transferring to a wheelchair - an electric lifter is available. If the caregiver is interested, she can participate in household and garden work. 3 times a week, a palliative team visits, which will advise the caregiver if needed. The senior wakes up around 7:00, breakfast is at 8:00, followed by morning hygiene. Around 10:00, he needs to be transferred to a wheelchair and spends time in it until lunch. After lunch, he takes an afternoon nap in bed until about 15:00. After the nap, another transfer to the wheelchair is needed, and he can go for a walk. Additionally, a speech therapist, psychologist, and occupational therapist visit the house. Around 19:00, the senior needs to be put to bed, followed by evening hygiene, and he goes to sleep around 21:00. The caregiver resides on the ground floor of the house with the senior in a separate living unit. The caregiver has her own furnished room available. The senior's wife lives in her apartment on the 1st floor.

The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
The salary range in Germany is between €1200 and €2200 per month on a trade license. Compensation depends on the required language and other skills, the client's health condition, and whether care is provided for an individual or a married couple. In Switzerland, the salary ranges from 2460 to 2500 CHF per month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, an intermediate to good knowledge of German is most commonly required, while some families are satisfied with basic knowledge and/or require knowledge of another language, such as Czech or Russian. Families in Switzerland require good knowledge of German, though sometimes an upper-intermediate level is sufficient.
